In the heart of this valley lies the picturesque village of Rauris, the municipality with the largest total area in the entire Salzburg region.
The picturesque village of Rauris lies in the heart of this enchanting valley at the foot of the mountains. Rauris is a market village with 3,052 inhabitants in the province of Salzburg in the district of Zell am See in Austria.

In contrast to many other valleys in the Salzburger Land, the Rauris Valley is not used exclusively as an Alpine cultivation area in the summer months, but has been an important settlement area for centuries.
Large parts of the three side valleys Hüttwinkltal, Krumltal and Seidlwinkltal have been part of the Hohe Tauern National Park since 1984.

Yes, we have two larger grocery stores in Rauris. The Spar supermarket can be reached on foot in 5 minutes. The Billa supermarket can be reached on foot in 10 minutes.
The Rauriser Hochalmbahnen have 2 valley stations. In summer, only the valley station of the Hochalmbahnen gondola lift is open. The valley station of the cable cars is approx. 900 meters from the hotel. The valley station at the Kreuzboden chairlift is a 3-minute walk away (only open in winter)!
In winter, the free ski bus stops directly in front of the hotel every half hour from 09:00 and takes you to the lift stations in just a few minutes.
In Rauris there are 2 sports stores and 2 ski schools that offer ski rental: Intersport Pirchner and Sport Egger

The nearest train station to Hotel Alpina in Raurisertal is in Taxenbach, about 10 kilometers away. From there, you can easily take the Postbus or a taxi directly to Rauris.
