The enchanting Rauris Valley extends in Pinzgau through the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park. “The Golden Valley of the Alps”, “the secret jewel of the Hohe Tauern National Park” – these are popular names for the Rauris Valley in the province of Salzburg. In the heart of this valley lies the picturesque village of Rauris, the municipality with the largest total area in the entire province of Salzburg.

The picturesque village of Rauris lies in the heart of this enchanting valley at the foot of the mountains. Rauris is a market village with 3,052 inhabitants in the province of Salzburg in the district of Zell am See in Austria.

In summer you can discover a variety of exciting hiking and biking trails, numerous destinations and unique natural wonders. Winter offers snow-covered slopes, secluded cross-country ski trails and alpine winter magic

In contrast to many other valleys in the Salzburger Land, the Rauris Valley is not used exclusively as an Alpine cultivation area in the summer months, but has been an important settlement area for centuries.

Large parts of the three side valleys Hüttwinkltal, Krumltal and Seidlwinkltal have been part of the Hohe Tauern National Park since 1984.
