Horseback Riding in the Heart of the Alps
Saddle up and ride out in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes. In the wintry Raurisertal, riding enthusiasts will also find exactly what they are looking for.
Winter sports enthusiasts, snow lovers, and gourmets: They all enjoy returning to Rauris in the southern Salzburger Land. The Hohe Tauern National Park promises many unforgettable winter adventures. This includes experiences on horseback: The region and its snow-covered landscape can be explored particularly well from the back of a relaxed Icelandic horse. Perfect offers for riding beginners and advanced riders are available directly in the valley.
Riding lessons at the stables – Unwinding at the Alpina
Two Rauris businesses have teamed up to provide guests of the Raurisertal with an unforgettable holiday with horses: The “Purer’s” riding stable, with its own Icelandic horse breeding, offers riding for beginners and advanced riders. Manager Laura personally supervises the sessions on the grounds or – in case of bad weather – in the private indoor arena. At the “Reitsport Embach” riding stable, horses of all sizes reside, including various breeds such as Warmbloods, Arabians, Spanish horses, Haflingers, and Shetland ponies. Beginners and advanced riders receive individual attention from Alexandra, a state-certified instructor, and can deepen their riding skills with tailored lessons. The covered riding arena is particularly attractive, allowing for riding without restrictions even in poor weather. Children are also well catered for: The stable offers special children’s riding lessons, where the little ones learn how to handle horses through play and gain their first riding experiences.
Only ten kilometers away, at the 4-star Hotel Alpina, you can set up camp when you finally leave the company of your beloved horse. The family-run establishment works closely with both riding stables. However, guests getting on a horse for the first time or those wishing to take a break are also in excellent hands at the Alpina. Not least because a successful day of riding finds its ideal conclusion here: first in the wellness area with a sauna and pool, then in the restaurant with regional and creative culinary delights from the hotel kitchen. For the Prommegger host family, the well-being of their guests comes first. This is a fact that you will feel at all times – as a rider, but also as a winter sports enthusiast and gourmet.
