Ski touring and freeskiing are becoming increasingly popular and in the proud mountains of the Goldberg group around the three thousand meter peaks Hocharn (3,245 m) and Sonnblick (3,106 m) with Europe’s highest weather station on the summit, both professionals and beginners will find what they are looking for.


Other popular touring mountains include the Einödscharte (2,098 m), the Breitebenkopf (2,236 m), the Rührkübel (2,472 m), the Kolmkarspitz (2,529 m), the Hocharn (3,254 m) and the Silberpfennig (2,600 m). The north-eastern slopes of the Hochalmbahnen ski area also boast deep snow areas right next to the groomed pistes right into spring.
